Hi there, welcome to our little corner of the internet.
If you’ve ever found yourself staring at your kitchen shelves, feeling frustrated with the glassware you own, this story is for you. It’s the story of why Meow² Kitchen exists, and how a simple desire for better kitchenware turned into something we pour our whole hearts into.
A few years ago, we were just two people who loved cooking, hosting small dinners, and finding joy in the little moments around the kitchen table. But over and over again, we ran into the same problems:
- Plastic containers that leached strange odors and chemicals, even after just a few uses.
- Cheap glass bowls that chipped after one drop, or cracked when we poured hot soup into them.
- Beautiful but fragile pieces that looked perfect on Instagram, but were too delicate for everyday life.
- Storage jars that didn’t seal properly, leaving spices stale and cookies soft.
We kept thinking: Why does it have to be this way?
Why couldn’t we have glassware that’s safe for our families, durable enough for daily use, beautiful enough to make every meal feel special, and kind to the planet too?
That’s the question that started everything. One evening, over mugs of tea, we decided to stop waiting for someone else to make what we wanted—and make it ourselves.
We spent months researching materials, testing dozens of factories, and even dropping prototype bowls on the floor (don’t worry, we did it carefully) to see which ones could handle real life. We learned about high-borosilicate glass, the same material used in lab equipment, that’s heat-resistant, shatter-resistant, and completely non-toxic. We tested different packaging designs, just to make sure every piece would arrive at your door in perfect condition.
